WELCOME TO OUR FAMILY,

If we've never met before... We're Dr. Kayla and Dr. Anthony Abeid.

For nearly a decade, we poured our hearts into a chiropractic practice serving thousands of babies, children, women, men and families, that became so much more than a place people came to get adjusted.

It became home.

We watched babies become big brothers and sisters. We cared for women through pregnancy, adjusted them in their homes during labor, then held their newborns just minutes or days after they entered the world.

We celebrated weddings, cried through losses, walked alongside families through unimaginable seasons, and witnessed some of life's most beautiful moments.

Many of the families we served came every single week. Not for a month. Not for a year. For nearly a decade.

We watched their children grow up. They watched ours. They celebrated our victories and carried us through our losses. They became so much more than the people we served.

They became our community. Our extended family. Leaving wasn't easy.

In many ways, it felt impossible. Because you don't walk away from people you love.

But sometimes life places a knowing on your heart that asks you to trust it, even when it costs you everything familiar.

For years, Anthony and I kept having the same conversation. "What if we chose the life that matched everything we dreamed of?"

Not just inside the office. Outside of it too.

We didn't want a big city trying to create a small-town feeling. We wanted a real small town.

A place where neighbors know each other's names. Where children spend more time outside than inside.

Where families slow down long enough to truly know one another. Where the work we do doesn't end when someone gets off an adjustment table.

It pours back into the families, the children, and the community we have the privilege of serving.

For a long time, that dream stayed exactly that. A dream.

Until one day we realized we had a choice. We could keep talking about the life we wanted... Or we could have the courage to build it. So we answered the call.

Without ever stepping foot in Pagosa Springs. Without ever visiting. Without knowing exactly how it would all work.

We made the decision to move our family here.

We closed our practice, sold our dream home and packed up our entire life.

Three children. Five dogs. Two cats. Everything we owned.

And we traveled 2000+ miles across the country toward a town we believed we were meant to call home.

People have asked us why we would leave a thriving practice and a community we loved so deeply.

The answer is simple.  Because we weren't leaving our purpose behind. We were following it.

River Healing is one small piece of the life we've dreamed about for years.

Not an event. Not a business. A gathering.

A place where families can come exactly as they are. Where children can run barefoot through the grass.

Where neighbors become friends. Where conversations aren't rushed.

Where you can receive gentle chiropractic care, receive body work and hands on healing, ask questions about your well-being, get real support, compassion and truly be heard, sit beside the river, listen to the sound bowls, breathe mountain air, slow down, relinquish survival, and simply enjoy being together.

Somewhere over the years of the hustle and bustle of a thriving practice we lost our core dream.

Our dream was never to build the biggest practice. Our dream has always been to build the most connected community. One where families know they belong.

One where resources, education, care, and connection continually pour back into the people who call this place home.

We believe healthy communities aren't built inside four walls. They're built around dinner tables.

On front porches. Beside rivers. Through relationships. One family at a time.

We're incredibly grateful that our family gets to begin this next chapter here in Pagosa Springs.

Whether you've lived here your whole life or you just arrived yesterday, we hope you'll come spend an afternoon with us. Not because you need to know us. But because we'd genuinely love the opportunity to know you.

From our family to yours... Welcome.

WHAT IS RIVER HEALING?

If you spent a Saturday with our family, it probably wouldn't look much different than this.

The kids would be barefoot before noon. Someone would be skipping rocks across the river.

I'd probably have a baby on my back in the carrier while answering a million questions.

There'd be a picnic blanket with bags fill with snacks. The dance party music would be playing somewhere in the background. And if I'm being completely honest...

At least one of our kids would be arguing with another. The baby would probably be trying to bite one of them.

Someone would be crying because they wanted the same stick.

Someone else would be insisting they weren't tired while very obviously melting down.

Real life. That's actually the point.

We're not trying to create a picture-perfect afternoon. We're creating a real one.

One where families can simply come as they are. Messy. Loud. Beautiful. Human.

Because that's how life actually works.

We've learned that healing isn't found by waiting for life to become peaceful.

It's found by learning how to create peace in the middle of real life.

That's how we live. Not perfectly. Intentionally.

We didn't move to Pagosa Springs because we thought life would magically become easier.

Trust me... Three kids and seven animals are still three kids and seven animals.

Laundry still piles up. Dishes still need washed. Someone still forgets their water bottle.

The dog still runs off after something she definitely shouldn't.

Life is still wonderfully full.

The difference is... We choose our pace. We choose our priorities.

We choose to sit by the river even when the house isn't perfectly clean.

We choose to eat dinner together.

We choose to let the kids stay outside until the sun starts disappearing behind the mountains.

We choose conversations over constant distractions.

We choose presence over perfection.

Because we've learned something after spending nearly a decade walking alongside thousands of families.

The way you live your life becomes the environment your body lives inside.

Every conversation. Every hurry. Every meal eaten in the car. Every laugh. Every argument. Every hug.

Every moment you feel seen. Every moment you feel alone.

Your body experiences all of it.

Your nervous system is always listening.

Not just to what's happening inside of you... But to the life you're creating around you.

That's why River Healing exists.

Not because we think one afternoon will change your life.

But because sometimes all it takes is one afternoon to remember what's possible.

To remember what it feels like when your shoulders drop.

When your kids are laughing instead of staring at screens.

When conversations happen without anyone checking the time.

When healthcare looks like relationship instead of rushing.

When someone knows your name.

When your family feels like it belongs.

Because we believe healing doesn't begin the moment someone lies down on an adjustment table.

It begins the moment they feel safe enough to exhale.

A Typical Afternoon at River Healing

  • 11:00 AM Just follow the sound of the river. You'll be greeted by our family, find a place to settle in, meet the other families gathering for the afternoon, and let yourself arrive. Really arrive. Leave the emails for later. Take your shoes off if you want. Let the kids wander to their own circle. Take a deep breath. You're here.
  • Opening Circle – We'll gather together for a few moments to welcome and meet everyone, share why River Healing exists, and set the intention for the afternoon. Grounding in with sound healing to know that you're part of something bigger than another item on your calendar.
  • The Afternoon Unfolds Naturally – There isn't a schedule to keep up with. You'll receive gentle nervous system-focused chiropractic care, hands-on healing, bodywork, and sound healing. You'll have space to ask the questions you've been carrying for months. You'll share stories with people who genuinely care. You'll laugh. You may cry. You may simply sit beside the river and do absolutely nothing at all. Your children will probably come running over every few minutes to show you the "coolest rock they've ever found." Someone will end up soaking wet. Someone will definitely get dirty. And nobody will mind. Because this is what childhood looks like. This is what community feels like. This is what life is meant to be.
  • 3:00 PM – The mountains haven't changed. The river hasn't changed. But something inside you probably has.

Your shoulders feel a little softer. Your breathing feels a little deeper. Your children are tired in the best possible way. You've had conversations that mattered. You've been cared for. You've cared for others. And somewhere along the afternoon... You remembered that healing isn't something you squeeze into your life. It's something you create through the way you choose to live it. We hope you leave feeling a little more connected. To yourself. To your family. To this community. And to the life you came here to build.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Every River Healing gathering is a little different because every person arrives with a different story.

Some come feeling overwhelmed and in need of rest. Others come seeking support for their health, deeper connection with their family, or simply a place where they can slow down and breathe. Wherever you find yourself, you'll be met with care, compassion, and space to receive exactly what you need.

Throughout the afternoon, you'll have the opportunity to experience:

Gentle Nervous System-Focused Chiropractic Care

Stress has a way of living in the body. Through gentle, specific Torque Release Technique adjustments, we help support your nervous system so your body can move out of survival and into greater ease, adaptability, and regulation.

Whether you're seeking support for yourself, your pregnancy, your child, or your family, every adjustment is personalized and delivered with care.

Learn more about Torque Release Technique.

Healing Arts & Restorative Bodywork

Healing isn't one-size-fits-all.

Throughout the gathering, you'll have opportunities to experience restorative practices such as energy healing, craniosacral therapy, sound healing, intuitive support, and other modalities designed to help you reconnect with your body, process emotions, and experience deeper rest.

Spiritual & Intuitive Support

For those who desire it, spiritual guidance and intuitive healing are available throughout the gathering.

Whether you're seeking clarity, encouragement, prayer, identity work, or deeper connection with God/Spirit, you'll find a welcoming space to explore your spiritual journey without pressure or expectation.

Biological Living & Family Education

Healing doesn't end when you leave the river.

Throughout the day, you'll have opportunities to learn practical principles for supporting your nervous system, caring for your family, understanding your body's wisdom, and creating a lifestyle that nurtures long-term health and resilience.

A Place for Children to Thrive

Children aren't sent off to be entertained while the adults heal.

They're part of the healing.

They'll have space to play, explore, be adjusted, participate in sound healing, connect with nature, and simply be children while witnessing what it looks like for families and communities to slow down and heal together.

Community, Nature & Meaningful Connection

Some of the most memorable moments happen between the planned experiences.

A conversation with someone who understands.

Watching your children make new friends. Laughing together by the river.

Sharing stories around a circle. Sitting quietly beneath the trees.

These moments can't be scheduled, but they often become the ones people remember most.

Because healing has always happened best in community.

WHO THIS IS FOR

River Healing was created for the people carrying more than they were ever meant to carry alone.

It's for...

The mother who spends so much caring for everyone else that she can't remember the last time she truly slowed down.

The pregnant woman who wants to support her body, her baby, and her nervous system before birth.

The postpartum mother longing to feel like herself again while being held by a community that understands.

The parent trying to raise healthy, connected children in a world that often feels rushed, noisy, and disconnected.

The baby and child whose growing nervous system deserves gentle, intentional support from the very beginning.

The couple who misses feeling connected and wants a few uninterrupted hours to breathe together.

The individual who feels exhausted, overwhelmed, or simply knows there's got to be more to life than surviving from one week to the next.

The family searching for a different approach to health, healing, and community.

The newcomer hoping to find belonging.

The local who simply wants to spend a beautiful afternoon beside the river with good people and meaningful conversation.

Whether you're walking through a season of healing, growth, transition, celebration, grief, curiosity, or simply a desire to reconnect with yourself and the people you love, there is a place for you here.

You don't need to know anyone before you arrive.

You don't need to have experience with chiropractic care, healing work, or spiritual practices.

You don't need to have everything figured out.

You simply need a willingness to come exactly as you are.

We'll meet you there.

Not sure if River Healing is for you?

You don't need to be "into" chiropractic.

You don't need to be experienced with healing work.

You don't need to belong to a particular church or spiritual tradition.

You don't need to know anyone attending.

If you're longing for a slower afternoon, meaningful connection, and space to care for yourself and your family, you'll feel right at home.

MEET YOUR FACILITATORS

DRS. KAYLA & ANTHONY ABEID

For nearly a decade, Drs. Kayla and Anthony Abeid have dedicated their lives to helping individuals and families move beyond survival and experience lasting restoration.

As chiropractors specializing in prenatal, pediatric, and family care, they've supported thousands of people through nervous system-focused chiropractic care while creating communities centered on healing, connection, and wholehearted living.

Over the years, their work expanded beyond the physical body.

Through teaching, mentorship, healing arts, and spiritual guidance, they began helping people address not only physical symptoms, but the deeper patterns that shape relationships, family life, identity, purpose, and connection with God/Spirit.

Again and again, they witnessed the same truth:

People weren't broken.

They were carrying far more than they were ever meant to carry alone.

That realization became the foundation of Life Fully Embodied, a restoration movement devoted to helping individuals, couples, and families reconnect with their bodies, their faith, their relationships, their communities, and the life they were created to live.

In 2026, they followed God's call to leave behind their established practice, community, and home in South Carolina to begin again in Pagosa Springs.

It wasn't the logical decision.

It was the faithful one.

Today, alongside their three children, they are building more than a practice or a ministry.

They're helping cultivate a living community where healing happens in relationship, families are strengthened, children are celebrated, and people remember they were never meant to do life alone.

River Healing is one expression of that vision.

They would be honored to welcome you beside the river.

"We're not creating another event. We're helping rebuild the kind of community we believe every family deserves."

THE RESTORATION FRAMEWORK

At Life Fully Embodied, we do not believe the body is broken, defective, or working against you.

We believe the body is intelligent.

Every symptom, adaptation, pattern, sensation, behavior, and survival response carries information. What many people have been taught to fear, suppress, fight, or fix is often the body's attempt to help them survive, adapt, protect, and ultimately heal.

Our restoration framework is rooted in the understanding that the body follows natural biological laws. Nothing in nature is random, and the human body is no exception. Physical symptoms, emotional patterns, nervous system responses, relationship dynamics, survival identities and even many of the challenges people face throughout life often make sense when viewed through the lens of adaptation and environment rather than dysfunction.

Rather than asking:

"What is wrong with you?"

We ask a different question:

"What has your body been trying to communicate?"

This perspective transforms the healing journey. It moves people out of fear and into understanding. Out of shame and into compassion. Out of battle and into partnership with their own biology.

Through nervous system restoration, tonal chiropractic care, biological living education, healing arts, spiritual formation, and community support, we help individuals and families develop a deeper relationship with the wisdom of their bodies and the natural processes that govern healing and restoration.

We believe true healing is not about becoming someone new.

It is about removing the interference, adaptations, and survival patterns that have pulled us away from who we have always been.

River Healing creates space for that restoration to occur.

A return to the body.
A return to relationship.
A return to family.
A return to community.
A return to creation.
A return to spirit.

A return to the truth that the body was never the enemy.

It has been carrying the wisdom of your story all along.

A RETURN TO WHAT MATTERS

There is something deeply healing about gathering beside a river, sharing a conversation with people you have just met, watching children play freely, and remembering that life was never meant to be lived in isolation.

For generations, healing happened in community. People supported one another through seasons of challenge and celebration. Wisdom was shared. Children were raised within villages. Families gathered together. Connection was not something people searched for. It was simply a part of everyday life.

While the world has changed, the human need for connection has not.

We all long to feel seen. We all long to belong. We all long for spaces where we can exhale, put down the weight we have been carrying, and remember who we are beneath the demands of everyday life.

River Healing was created from that understanding.

It is an invitation to step away from the noise for a few hours and reconnect with yourself, your family, your community, and the natural world around you. It is an opportunity to receive support, build meaningful relationships, and experience what becomes possible when healing is shared rather than pursued alone.

If something about this gathering speaks to you,
trust that feeling.

Perhaps what you have been searching for is not another answer, another strategy, or another thing to add to your calendar.

Perhaps it is simply a place to belong.

We would be honored to welcome you by the river.
