I've been thinking about this for a minute now.
You know those moments where you're driving home from work, you pull into your driveway, and before you get out of the car you just sit there for a minute.
Nothing bad happened.
You're not angry.
You just..
Sit there.
Because you know the as soon as you walk through that door somebody needs something from you.
The kids are excited you're home.
Your spouse has been waiting to tell you about their day.
Dinner needs made.
The house needs cleaned.
There's still work you didn't finish.
The yard needs mowed.
Something needs fixed.
The dog needs let out.
And before you've even taken your damn shoes off...
You're already thinking about that mental check list of everything that needs to be done.
I've talked with enough people to know that it happens all the time.
I've seen it in men.
I've seen it in women.
I've seen it in married couples.
People who genuinely love their families.
People who would do absolutely anything for the people they care about.
And that's exactly how it happens.
Not through some major life-changing event.
Through a thousand little moments.
One more responsibility.
One more thing that has to get done.
One more season where you tell yourself,
"I'll get back to myself when life slows down."
Except..
THAT NEVER HAPPENS.. c'mon you know it. When has life ever actually slowed down?
It just puts something different on your plate.
And then one day somebody asks you a simple question.
"What do you want?"
Not what does your family need.
Not what does your boss need.
Not what does everybody else expect from you.
What do you want?
And for a lot of people..
That's a pretty hard question to answer.
Not because they don't have dreams.
Not because they don't have purpose.
But because it's been so long since they've truly sat with themselves and asked themselves that question. They honestly don't even have an answer anymore.
I think about that a lot.
I think about it when I'm working with someone through Christ Light.
I think about it when I'm sitting with a married couple.
I think about it after deep conversations that stay with me for a while.
I think about it when I'm by myself.
That's really why I wanted to create this space.
Not because I wanted another place to post content.
Transparently..
I just wanted somewhere to share the conversations I can't stop having.
The things I see that stick with me.
The things I'm learning.
The questions I find myself asking over and over again.
I don't really know where these conversations are going to lead.
And to be real.. I think that's what excites me the most.
Some days I might be sharing something I noticed while working with someone through Christ Light that completely changed the way I understand the body.
Some days it'll be a conversation about purpose.
Some days it'll be something I've been seeing over and over again in the people I have the privilege of working with.
I don't want this to feel like another place where someone talks at you.
I'd much rather it feel like we're sitting across the table from each other with a cup of coffee, having the kinds of conversations that we don't normally get to have because everyone's too busy trying to get to the next thing.
The conversations that make you stop and think.
The ones that stay with you long after they're over.
The ones that slowly change the way you see yourself.. the way you see other people.. and the way you choose to experience life.
That's really all this is.
A place where we get to be curious together.
A place where we get to ask the real questions.
A place where we don't have to pretend we've got everything figured out.
Just real conversations.
Real observations.
Real people.
I'm grateful you're here.
Let's see where this journey takes us.
